Flower Ideas for a Shady Backyard

An old hanger became useful today when I made this Topiary. Let’s hope the ivy continues to grow and wrap around the circular hanger. My step by step instructions come from Thistlewoodfarms Blog.

Flower Container

It’s always nice to find a new use for a favorite container. This one has been next to my kitchen sink for use as a holder of sponges and scrub brushes. Now I will enjoy  it on my porch. This idea comes from Pinterest

Spring Flowers

I have seen so many nice pictures on Pinterest of flowers in baskets and I love the way they look. I got all of my flowers and the little green buckets at the 99 cents store today.


I loved a picture I saw on Sundayinbed.tumbler and tried to recreate it. I had the mason jar and flowers from my garden.

Window Flowers

Today I planted a flower box under my window in the backyard. I was inspired by a photo on Pinterest.  I decided to go with pink, white and green and the flowers I used are impatience, ranunculus, bacopa and ivy. I bought the window planter at Osh and used 2 screws to mount it into the window sill.
